A professional sports LED display system is not a single large screen. Perimeter LED displays, main video boards, ribbon displays, center-hung displays and concourse screens serve different viewing, content and operational requirements.

Pixel pitch, luminance, cabinet architecture, signal topology, LED processing and service access should be selected from actual venue geometry and camera positions rather than from a catalogue specification alone.

01 What pixel pitch should be used for a stadium LED display?
Pixel pitch should be selected from viewing distance, active screen dimensions, required image detail and camera geometry. Perimeter, ribbon, main-board and hospitality displays may require different pitches.
02 How much luminance does an outdoor stadium LED display need?
Required luminance depends on screen orientation, direct sunlight, ambient-light conditions, operating hours and camera exposure. Maximum luminance and normal operating luminance should be treated as separate design values.
03 Why is refresh rate important for sports broadcasting?
Professional cameras can reveal scanning artefacts and flicker that spectators may not notice. High refresh rate provides camera headroom, while scan mode, grayscale, shutter speed, frame rate, LED processing and calibration also influence broadcast performance.
04 What is the difference between a perimeter LED display and a ribbon display?
A perimeter LED display is positioned close to the field of play and is primarily used for camera-facing sponsor media. A ribbon display is normally integrated into seating fascia and can carry advertising, scoring, information and synchronized venue graphics.
05 What should be considered for pitch-side player protection?
Review soft-mask protection, cushioning, exposed hardware, cabinet stability, emergency passage requirements and procedures for opening and restoring access sections.
06 What information is required for a stadium LED quotation?
